Three components make up UV DTF (Direct to Film) stickers, a high-tech customized decorative material: adhesive, AB film layer, and UV curing ink. UV irradiation rapidly cures UV-curing ink, creating a layer with excellent adhesion and durability to weather.
The easy peeling and fading of regular stickers is successfully resolved by UV DTF stickers, which are made for high-wear situations in contrast to traditional stickers. The AB film layer gives the sticker exceptional waterproof performance in addition to shielding the ink from outside corrosion.
UV DTF (Direct to Film) transfer is suitable for transferring high-precision patterns to various materials (such as plastic, metal, glass, leather, etc.).
UV DTF main materials and basic uses
- UV DTF transfer film is a transparent film containing patterns (printed and glued).
It can be attached to the surface of clean and dry objects (such as mobile phone cases, cups, key chains, etc.).
- UV light cures UV glue.
UV DTF Printing operation tips:
- Design and printing (if homemade transfer film)
Use design software (such as Photoshop, Illustrator) to create mirror (reverse) patterns.
Print the pattern with a UV DTF printer, covering the white ink layer and glue layer in turn (if homemade transfer film is required).
- Cut the pattern
Cut the printed transfer film into the required shape, leaving 1-2mm margin on the edge. - Clean the substrate
Wipe the surface of the substrate with alcohol or a dust-free cloth to remove oil and dust to ensure adhesion.
Notes :
- Environmental requirements: The operating environment must be low in dust and the humidity must be less than 70%.
- Curing time: Avoid over- or under-curing, which will affect adhesion.
- Complex curved surfaces: It is recommended to use a hot air gun to soften the film before transfer.
- Storage: Unused transfer films must be stored away from light and moisture.
